Qi Gong & Yoga Nidra

Prepare yourself for a deep sleep with the relaxing practices of Qi Gong and Yoga Nidra.

We will start with gentle movement meditation according to the Chinese practice of Qi Gong. Then we will carry out a brief Pranayama practice. Finally, we will lie down to be guided into deep healing yogic sleep, Yoga Nidra.    

The session will be facilitated by Sarojini Kohli, an Iyengar yogi of 40 years who has recently completed her trainings in Yoga Nidra and Yin Yoga.  

This event is part of a 3-day launch of Conscious Kenya – one platform where you can find all your holistic wellness events, practitioners and products.

I have been practicing Iyengar yoga for the last 40 years. The strict discipline of Iyengar yoga, the desire to have a toned ‘yoga body’, and the aspiration to master the balance took me to another level of thinking. I was drawn to Yin yoga, which I trained in with Norman Blair, and followed soon after to yoga Nidra which I trained in with Dina Cohen.

I have watched the yoga industry shift and morph alongside my own shifting and morphing transformation. I don’t claim to be an expert in any of the ever changing styles (and I have investigated many) nor do I wish to impose my ideas and beliefs on anyone. The rewards of s-l-o-w-i-n-g, turning within and learning to rest deeply have been my deliverance .

I only hope that in sharing some of the practices of Yin yoga and yoga Nidra you will reach your own personal conclusions.
And along the way may you soak up any gifts that present themselves.
